Robin Hope ...

Robin Hope rose to prominence when he started a new band in 1958 called The Sapphires (in which he played lead guitar) - the group also included Fred Mummery (Piano), Mike Green (Bass), and Murray Johnston (Drums), and they were successful in that same year in obtaining a residency at a local coffee lounge "The Copper Cat", in lower High Street, Christchurch.  The Copper Cat was one of the original night spots in Christchurch and was always popular for "after-match coffees" as it did not close until around 2:00am.

The band eventually morphed into an outfit called Dion Shannon and The Shamrocks as is evidenced by the images below.
