Shane Cortese

Shane has become a household name in New Zealand following roles on Shortland Street, Outrageous Fortune, Burying Brian, as the host of So You Think You Can Dance and for dancing his way into the hearts of the nation on the inaugural season of Dancing With the Stars.

Shane has starred in many musicals in the West End and throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, as Elvis in 'Elvis the Musical', Ritchie Valens in 'Buddy', Ricky Nelson in 'Rock'n'Roll Heaven' and Frank in 'The New Rocky Horror Show'.

After returning home in 2003 Shane established his Rock'n'Roll band 'The Class of 58'. He has quickly gained a reputation as a passionate and energetic rock'n'roller with an obvious love of music's greatest era. When his big 17 piece band tour they sell out wherever they play,  including Skycity Theatre no less than 5 times, along the way raising over $25,000 for the Starship Foundation.
